Planning the Ultimate Superbowl Party
It’s almost time again for the big game, Patriots vs Giants, and the time to send out those invites and have all your close friends around for food, fun and football! What makes your Superbowl party a success though, is it your secret recipe or hidden corner take away spot that provides the best buffalo wings, or is it your keen hosting skills that makes sure everyone is comfy with the best setup for the game viewing, or is it that you are always the one to have the ice cold frosty beverages in the fridge always ready for consumption? With this guide we aim to highlight some of the key aspects of a Superbowl that makes everyone cheer, not only at the winner of the game but also your hosting skills. So from food, to drinks to how to make everything work, let’s get into what truly makes the amazing Superbowl party!
Superbowl Party Viewing Location
Your apartment and home needs to be organized to cater for the event. Superbowl parties require a television that is big enough to be viewed by all and seating should accent this feature. A couple of couches at the back with some bean bags at the front should provide ample and comfortable seating as well as great viewing areas for all concerned. If you don’t have a large LCD (40” or more) for your Superbowl, consider renting one for the day from a local store. Inform neighbors of the Superbowl party just so you don’t get those unexpected knocks from the police for disturbance and make sure you have enough toilet paper. Trust me on that fact.
SuperBowl Snack and Sustenance Surprises
Get the right finger food for the Superbowl party. Check whether your guests have any food requirements, such as vegan or vegetarian and make sure that if you are ordering platters of wings or chilli poppers from your local outlet that your order is in at least a week before the big day to make sure you get the stock. Them the food for the different teams taking part, so maybe some clam chowder bowls for the Patriots and ribs for the Texans. Focus on finger food to make catering easier and eating a pleasure not a chore.
Drinks ensure that your guests are not parched and have the lungs to cheer for your favorite teams. As with the food, try finding the local brews of the participating teams and making sure you have a fridge large enough or at least a few bowls of ice to store the excess. Ordering a keg can be another venture and make sure you have the space for it and the delivery sorted out. Superbowl cocktails are also a winning formula, but do also remember to store soft drinks for those driving or non drinkers.
These are the basics for making sure your Superbowl party is the event that is spoken about around the water cooler on the Monday morning, and just be careful you don’t make it too perfect, or you may need a larger apartment for next year!
