Is There an Over the Counter Stretch Mark Cream that is Better than the Rest?
For some women, stretch marks are an inevitable part of the miracle of giving birth. For others, however, their stretch marks become the bane of their existence and they go to great lengths to reduce the appearance of them or eliminate them.
There are a lot of stretch mark products sold over the counter and most will claim that they are the best. What are some real criteria for making a product the best? The first thing would be that the product has been around for a long time. If people are still buying it, it must still work. Secondly, it should be clinically proven to work. If there are no studies to back it up then there is no real proof that it works at all. Now, there are many good products out there that work for some but not for others but that doesn’t qualify as the best.
There is a product that has been in existence since 1987. It also is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of or eliminate stretch marks and scars. The ingredients of this product include a recreation of the oil produced when a duck preens. There are also Vitamins A, C and E. There are herbs that are known to help with stretch marks that are also in this product, including lavender. The name of this product is Bio Oil.
The price varies but it can be found many places including Walgreens, Amazon and online. One of the lower prices found was $10 for a 3 ounce bottle. However, it does not take much of the oil to rub into the stretch marks. Remember, this can be used on scars as well. It also has been proven to even out skin tone. It really is an amazing product. Like most products, it can take weeks or months to see results but some women are lucky and begin to see results right away.
The oil is able to penetrate down past the first layer of skin to the dermis, or the second layer of skin which promotes healing inside and out. The doctor who invented this product spent years perfecting the final result. Having been sold now for over 20 years, there is plenty of verifiable proof that it does work. It certainly is worth a try to get one bottle and see if there are any (even slightly) noticeable results.
