Superglue is our answer to everything that we need to fix, from broken glass to craft projects, from sticking cloth to filling a hole or even mending a crack. Superglue is known for its strong adhesiveness, versatility and its easy application. But the only problem is that this glue dries really fast and while this is an advantage when it comes to sticking and repairing, it becomes a problem when you end up getting some glue on your fingers. Often the question how to remove superglue that is stuck on the fingers pops up in the mind.

Very often while working on something we get so immersed in our work that we don’t notice that we ended up getting glue on our fingers. While that can be easily solved if it is any other glue, superglue on the other hand is very sticky and washing it with water doesn’t help dissolving the stickiness of the glue.

Here are a few steps by which you can manage to successfully get superglue off your fingers:

  • As soon as you have realised that you have got your fingers stuck to each other by superglue do not try and pull them apart as this will just peel your skin off.
  • Very gently using warm water try and move your fingers a little in circular motions to try and weaken the glue a little.
  • Once you are done with the warm water let it dry for a while.
  • Then take a little acetone on a cotton ball or swab and gently apply it around the stuck area. Be very careful while using acetone as it is a very strong chemical. Look for polish removers that have acetone.
  • Acetone dissolves the glue and you can now separate your fingers.
  • Once your fingers are free just wash them with warm water again and apply hand lotion generously as acetone ends up drying your skin.

You can now use your superglue without being tensed about your fingers getting glued together. Just be very careful while removing it though as any hastiness in pulling your fingers apart can lead to skin getting damaged.
