annoying people at the gymAre you sticking to your new years resolutions? If you are, then you’ve probably encountered some annoying people at the gym. Sure, there are countless others that are trying to keep their resolutions and kudos to them, but when they start to annoy you, it’s not that great. Here’s a handy guide to help you with the most annoying of patrons at the gym.

1. The one that breaks your circuits. While you are zooming around the different machines (which, by the way, are clearly marked 1-9 for circuit training), someone positions themselves on the shoulder press. This can be something that is really annoying for most people, they just want to finish the whole circuit. If this happens to you, just skip the machine for that circuit. It won’t hurt to skip. If you are dead set on completing your circuit, ask them if you can jump in, or that you are trying to do a whole circuit so they can stay out of your way.

2. Slow swimmer. You get to the gym, and you are trying to get done with your laps as fast as you can, but the person in your lane keeps getting in your way. It’s probably one of the most frustrating things because you are just trying to get your workout in. Here’s what you can do, you can ask the swimmer if you would like to share lanes. This way, you can just share the lane and you won’t have to worry about passing the other person. Most of the times, slower swimmers are in the wrong lane because they don’t know what to do. If it isn’t crowded, the slower swimmer can just go in a different lane.

3. Sweaty Pete. It’s great that your gym mates are getting their sweat on, but if they are leaving some visible sweat, it’s pretty gross. You can just ask them to wipe off the equipment before you start using it. Most people won’t get offended if you ask.

4. Machine lingerer. So you get to the gym, but someone is taking their sweet, sweet time. It can get pretty frustrating if you just want to get in and out of the gym. You will just have to ask your gym friend if they are hurrying it up. They might not notice that they are taking a long time to finish. Once you ask, they’ll probably hurry it up.
